SEGURA conducted the evaluation and sustainability assessment of the AERA projects implemented by the Kenan Institute Asia (K.I.Asia) under USAID’s Accelerating Economic Recovery in Asia program (AERA), and drafted recommendations to work with K.I.Asia for mutual development goals in the region after completion of the current cooperative agreement.

The evaluation focused on private sector, public health, and environmental activities carried out under the AERA Cooperative Agreement by K.I.Asia between September 30, 2003 and December 31, 2007. The evaluation team also prepared a self-sustainability assessment of K.I.Asia. As a result of these analyses, the evaluation team provided an assessment of the concept of USAID‘s use of K.I.Asia as a legacy mechanism.
