SEGURA Consulting is proud to support Tetra Tech ARD on the Mali Anka Jiko project, a five-year initiative funded by USAID since August 2022. The project is aimed at enhancing local governance in terms of creating, building, and managing community-level water systems, communal gardens, and fecal sludge treatment plants (FSTPs). This project will be focused on small towns and villages across 60 communes within the southern regions of Sikasso, Bougouni, and Koutiala in Mali. The overarching goal is to improve water and sanitation access for no less than 225,000 people by building more than 50 water systems and 5 FSTPs, along with the formation of 23 irrigated community gardens.

To ensure this, the Mali Anka Jiko project will be working closely with representatives from the Government of Mali (GOM) across various administrative levels - regional, cercle, and commune. The project will seek to fortify their skills in local governance planning, engineering design, construction management, and also enhance accountability structures for water service providers.

The project is driven by two central objectives 1) Improving Governance and Capacity Building for Water and Sanitation Services (Governance) and 2) Sustainably Amplifying Water and Sanitation Services through New or Refurbished Infrastructure (Construction).

SEGURA supports Sub-Objective 1.3 - Support infrastructure operators (WUAs, Comités de Gestion, and private sector contractors) for sustainable management of water and fecal sludge treatment infrastructure, water and fecal sludge management service delivery and of water resources.
